About The Show
A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for decades, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work that changed the landscape of musical theatre forever. The story, told entirely through song is a rock opera that sets the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events through the last week of Jesus Christ’s life, leading to his crucifixion.
JCS explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, Jesus’ disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. This iconic 1970s rock score is fused with 1970's rock, gospel, folk, and funk, and contains such well-known numbers such as Superstar, I Don’t Know How to Love Him, and Gethsemane.
