Early 2018 was a challenging time personally for Diva Productions' producers, as we lost a very dear family member, Andy Fretwell’s Grandfather. George Pulford passed away in March 2018 which was a devastating blow to us all. George was the very reason that Andy got into the theatre: He took him to his very first musical (Joseph) and continued to do so for many years and inspired Andy, and others around him, to be creative, imaginative and follow their dreams.
In honour of George and his memory we not only dedicated our first Youth Production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to him, but we introduced the George Pulford Award which would be presented to one of our talented company aged 21 or under in each production on the closing night. What is important to us, is that the recipient is the young person that has shown the most growth, perseverance, humility and passion in what they do - something George and all of us can be proud of.
